Jill Boy

Jill Boy currently serves as senior director of special projects for the Duke University School of Medicine. She served as executive director of Duke University’s Centennial Celebration from August 2022 to April 2025.

In her role as executive director, she was responsible for harnessing the resources of a large, decentralized organization, creating synergies and building partnerships to plan and execute a 16-month celebration that began in January 2024 and will officially culminate in May 2025.

Prior to this position, Jill spent 20 years working for Duke Health, as director of marketing and communications for the Duke Cancer Institute, and as Associate Dean and Chief Communications Officer for the Duke University School of Medicine. She earned a B.A. in Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Prior to joining Duke, she served as Vice President of Phoenix Communications, a communications consulting firm.

Kara Calderon

Kara Calderon is the Senior Director of Sustainability and Community Engagement within the Reynolds American organization, which is a member of the global BAT Group. Kara developed, implemented, and led the 150th Anniversary strategy and execution, celebrating the founding of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company in 1875.

Over her two-decade career with the Reynolds American organization, Kara has led hundreds of employees in consumer marketing, communications, community engagement, and environmental compliance roles. Kara works cross-functionally, monitoring and managing environmental regulations and governance projects.

She also leads the Reynolds American organization’s philanthropic giving, community investment, and employee engagement. Known for her people-first mindset and purpose- driven leadership style, Kara is a well-known change agent inside and outside the organization.

Kara serves as Board Chair for Keep America Beautiful; is President of the Santa Fe Natural Tobacco Company Foundation; and is on the Board of Advisors of the Wake Forest University Face-to-Face Speaker Forum. During her free time, Kara enjoys golfing, cooking, and spending as much time in the water as possible. She is a Master Scuba Diver and spends her vacations picking up trash from ocean floors and protecting native fish and the environment from invasive Lionfish.

Laura Hollingsworth

Laura Hollingsworth most recently served as SVP and Chief Marketing Officer for Opry Entertainment – a division of Ryman Hospitality Properties – where she played a lead role in building the strategy for the Opry’s 100th year anniversary. The iconic Grand Ole Opry is among the assets she helped elevate during her tenure, which concluded in October 2024.

Laura was a key member of the leadership team that drastically expanded the entertainment division’s asset portfolio and financial results. The Opry’s 100th anniversary strategy, which Laura architected, is currently being executed and celebrated through 2026.

Since joining Pella Corporation in 2001, she has advanced through leadership roles in National Accounts, Business Insights, Product Management, Marketing, and Human Resources. She played a pivotal role in orchestrating Pella’s 100th anniversary celebration, leading community and employee events that honored the company’s legacy and future. Karmen is known for her collaborative spirit, strategic insight, and passion for building inclusive, high- performing teams that drive meaningful impact.

Karmen and her husband, Kelly, reside in Pella, Iowa. They are avid outdoor enthusiasts and enjoy bird hunting across the western U.S. and Canada with their English setters.

She also contributed to the University of Utah’s Higher Education System Strengthening Activity (HESSA), a $19 million USAID-funded project to improve higher education in Pakistan.
